"
Nature Made It Green - So Lets Keep It Clean!
"
Dear
Friends,
It is time again to welcome our many
friends throughout the county and area to
visit the Suwannee County Fair and Youth
Livestock Show and Sale to be held March
27 - April 4, 2009. “Nature made it green,
so let’s keep it clean”. As all of you struggle
to raise “Good” kids and live a productive life,
so does The Suwannee County Fair strive to
meet the annual challenge of encouraging and
celebrating the best in our community. We
open our buildings and grounds to all those
who want to enter the fruits of their labors
for all to see. We reward their talent, hard
work and commitment with ribbons, trophies,
prizes, and premiums. Let us not forget the
true value of our fair, a place where parents
and children can come to compete, meet other
families, and reap the rewards of months of
hard work. Beyond the Midway rides, the
fun foods, and contests, the tractor pull, and
farm equipment, lie a way of life and a work
ethic that is handed down from generation to
generation.
A special thanks to the men and women
who head the departments along with their
volunteers whose efforts keep the Fair going.
Only with the support and participation of our
local commercial businesses and organizations
can we enjoy such an event, therefore, we
ask that you in turn support their businesses
during the year. Come to the Fair and enjoy
viewing, doing and learning from our exhibits
and entertainment.
WELCOME! To our 94th Annual Suwannee
County Fair Livestock Show and Sale.
Sincerely,

Tim Alcorn

Dear
Friends:
 |
Welcome to the Suwannee County Fair and Youth
Livestock Show.
Fairs are a distinct part of our American culture and
we hope you, your family and friends enjoy all the fair
has to offer. Over five million people visit Florida's fairs
each year to enjoy the exhibits, programs, music, rides
and games.
The Suwannee County Fair and Youth Livestock Show
provides an annual showcase for Florida's agricultural
industry. Agriculture continues to be a major contributor
to Florida's economy with an estimated overall economic
impact of more than $87 billion. Please take time to
appreciate the efforts of youth groups such as FFA and
4-H. Many of these young people have spent months
preparing the projects that you will see entered here.
As Florida's Commissioner of Agriculture, I have a
profound appreciation for the positive impact that fairs
and livestock shows have on the agriculture industry and
I still share the same enthusiasm for the excitement and
thrills these shows bring to our local communities. It is
my pleasure to welcome you to the Suwannee County
Fair and Youth Livestock Show.
Sincerely,
Charles H. Bronson
Commissioner of Agriculture
